Grime Radio Caprice on air

Grime Radio Caprice broadcasts live from Moscow, featuring Electronic, Electronic music.

On air is Grime from Radio Caprice, a Russian online station focused on the raw sound of early 2000s UK underground. The playlist centers on grime as a genre, with fast tempos around 140 BPM, minimalist breakbeats, heavy sub bass, and cold, synthetic textures rooted in garage and dancehall traditions.

Grime emerged in East London as a DIY culture tied to pirate radio, mixtapes, and low-budget production tools. Its signature sound is built on sparse riddims, sharp snare hits, and aggressive vocal delivery that sits somewhere between MCing and rhythmic chanting. Often confused with dubstep or hip-hop, grime formed its own identity early on, gaining wider recognition through artists like Dizzee Rascal and a scene that pushed street-level energy into the mainstream without losing its edge.
